Terms of service

  1. NMG Notary Services, LLC. (NMG) services residents and businesses of Jefferson and Shelby County. The Notary, Nicole M. Gettridge, MA, BSBA, CRP, is certified through the National Notary Association and licensed in the State of Alabama as a Notary Public for the State at Large. She is licensed, bonded, and E&O insured.The cost of general notary signing is $10.00 per notarial act pursuant to §36-20-74 of Act 2011-295, p.544, §1; Act 2023-548,§ 1. *No fee may be charged by a state, county, or municipal employee for a notarial act performed during, and as part of his or her public service, unless otherwise provided by law.

  2. Appointments can be scheduled online or via telephone by calling (205) 538- 1703, Ext—800 office or (205)728-7183 cell for urgent scheduling needs. Online scheduling is only available 2 hours in advance. The client can always call if the service is needed sooner. The office will accommodate the client’s needs based on the availability of the Notary. All current military and veterans receive 50% off on notarizations. We simply ask to see a form of military ID/ veteran’s ID to apply the discount. Use code Vet when scheduling or during the payment process.

  3. The Notary would appreciate notifications of any cancellations. Currently, penalization is not applied to clients for no-shows. NMG understands that emergencies can happen. So, you will never receive a fee for cancellation. Please contact the office 24 hours to 2 hours before the appointment time to cancel. The Notary accepts text messages and phone calls at (205) 728-7183 for cancellations. Urgent cancellations, please call 30 minutes to 1 hour prior. This allows the notary to update the schedule for future clients.

  4. Document delivery is available for signed documents to the place of business as needed. NMG Notary Services will only charge $5.00 per document(s) delivered. The delivery service fee is separate from the $10.00 notary fee. No other service fees are charged for notarizations. No charge service fees do not apply to notary signing agent service fees through third-party vendors. The customer will need to contact the agent or mortgage lender to discuss their fees.

  5. *The Notary cannot and will not accept tips on any notarizations. A client can tip the Notary for delivery services. Our Notary welcomes the support and appreciation of document delivery.

  6. Clients should always contact the office for any accommodation needed. The Notary can meet the client at home, work, hospital, coffee shop, or gym (convenience is NMG’s priority).

  7. Loan signings are NOW available by appointment only, scheduled through the signing agencies Notary is listed under. The Notary is a licensed Notary Signing Agent (NSA) and has also received Remote Online Notarization (RON) training through The National Notary Association.

  8. Ensure you have proper identification at the time of signing. The Notary cannot provide any form of legal advice regarding the documentation. Nicole M. Gettridge is not a lawyer; she is a licensed and certified Notary/ Notary Signing Agent and Certified Paralegal, CRP.  We advise clients to contact the ‘issuer of the document’ or a ‘legal professional’, such as a lawyer, for advice.

  9. A log of each notarial act is kept in a designated journal at the time of all signings. The information is always kept in a secure locked location. The notary cannot provide any information to law enforcement personnel without a warrant.
